Evgeny Ryaboy
Evgeny Ryaboy is a renowned Russian jazz drummer known for his extensive career and collaborations with both Russian and international musicians. He began his professional journey at the age of 18 with the Mark Pekarsky Percussion Ensemble, where he worked for 17 years and recorded three albums. Ryaboy studied under Mark Pekarsky and interned at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he was taught by John Ramsay. He has played with notable figures such as Pat Metheny, Joe Henderson, and Diana Reeves, and has performed at international jazz festivals in Finland, Italy, and Switzerland, among others.
Ryaboy's career includes collaborations with Russian musicians like Igor Bril and Igor Butman, and he has been a part of various musical groups, including the Moscow Jazz Ensemble of Soloists and the band Quadro. He has also contributed to numerous film scores and participated in musical theater productions. In 2002, he became the leader of his own ensemble, RYABOY BAND, and has been an endorser for Premier drums, Meinl cymbals, and Vic Firth drumsticks. Additionally, Ryaboy has been involved in music education, teaching at institutions such as the Maimonides Academy.
