Steve Khan
Steve Khan, born Steven Harris Cahn on April 28, 1947, in Los Angeles, California, is a renowned American jazz guitarist known for his contributions to jazz and jazz fusion. He is the son of the famous lyricist Sammy Cahn and initially took piano lessons before switching to the guitar in his late teens. Khan graduated from UCLA with a degree in music composition and theory.

Khan began his career as a drummer for the surf rock band the Chantays before transitioning to guitar. He became a prominent session musician, working with artists such as Ashford & Simpson, Rupert Holmes, Billy Joel, and Steely Dan. In the early 1970s, he performed in a guitar duo with Larry Coryell and was a member of the Brecker Brothers band.

As a solo artist, Khan released several albums, including his debut "Tightrope" in 1977, followed by "The Blue Man" in 1978 and "Arrows" in 1979. In 1980, he released "Evidence," featuring compositions by Thelonious Monk. He formed the Eyewitness quartet in 1981, which became known for its innovative sound.

Khan has received Grammy Award nominations for his albums "Local Color" (1987) and "Borrowed Time" (2007). In 1998, he was named one of the "22 All-Time Greatest Jazz Guitarists" by Jazz Life magazine. His extensive discography and collaborations with notable musicians have solidified his reputation as a significant figure in the jazz world.
