Vic Briggs
Victor Harvey Briggs III, known professionally as Vic Briggs, was a British musician renowned for his contributions to blues and rock music. Born on February 14, 1945, in Twickenham, Middlesex, England, he was the son of an American army captain who died in World War II. Raised by his British mother, Briggs was recognized for his dual citizenship early on. He attended Hampton Grammar School, where he mingled with future music legends like Paul Samwell-Smith and Brian May.

Briggs began his music career in 1961, mentored by session guitarist Big Jim Sullivan. He briefly joined The Echoes, performing at Liverpool's Cavern Club, and later rejoined them as Dusty Springfield's backing band. His tenure with The Echoes included contributing to Springfield's album "Ev'rything's Coming Up Dusty" and performing at major events.

In 1966, Briggs gained prominence as the lead guitarist for Eric Burdon and The Animals, a role he held until 1968. His musical journey later took him towards classical Indian and Hawaiian music after converting to Sikhism, adopting the name Antion Vikram Singh Meredith. Briggs continued to explore diverse musical styles until his death on June 30, 2021, in New Zealand. Throughout his career, he was celebrated for his versatility and ability to blend different musical traditions.
