David Batteau
David Hurst Batteau, born on June 25, 1949, in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American singer-songwriter known for his contributions to the alternative rock and pop genres. He is the son of Blanca Batteau and Dr. Dwight Wayne Batteau, and the brother of fellow singer-songwriters Robin Batteau and Dwight Jr. Batteau began his musical career in the early 1970s, working alongside his brother Robin in the duo Batteaux. They released an album in 1971 on Columbia Records, which included the song "Tell Her She's Lovely," later covered by El Chicano.

Batteau pursued a solo career, releasing his album "Happy in Hollywood" in 1976 under A&M Records. He is also recognized for his songwriting talents, having penned songs for artists such as Seals and Crofts, Trisha Yearwood, Michael Sembello, and Shawn Colvin. Notably, he co-wrote several tracks for Madeleine Peyroux's 2009 album "Bare Bones" with Larry Klein.

In the mid-1980s, Batteau formed the Pop/New Wave band Nomo, achieving a minor hit with "Red Lipstick" from their 1985 album "The Great Unknown." His song "Walk in Love" was covered by The Manhattan Transfer, reaching Number 12 on the UK Singles Chart. Batteau's career has spanned several decades, during which he has also contributed as a producer and arranger.
