Jim Casey
Jim Casey is a nationally renowned musician, singer, songwriter, and guitarist, born in Norfolk, Nebraska. He began his music career at the age of 16 by joining a teen rock band that eventually became The Smoke Ring, achieving national recognition with hit records and television appearances, including on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand. Casey's songwriting prowess led him to work with Gold Dust Music in Memphis, Tennessee, and later with Jack Music, Inc., Welk Music, and Universal Music in Nashville, Tennessee. His songs have been recorded by prominent country artists such as Charlie Pride, Bobby Bare, Sammi Smith, Waylon Jennings, and The Oak Ridge Boys. Additionally, pop and folk artist Ritchie Havens featured two of Casey's songs in the movie "Sealed With a Kiss," and he wrote "Fade Away" for blues legend Albert Collins. Casey's own album, "Blue Oasis," received national airplay and is noted for its eclectic mix of musical styles influenced by his upbringing in Nebraska, where he was exposed to a wide range of genres from Rock ‘n’ Roll to Big Band. Throughout his career, Casey has also led songwriting seminars for organizations like the Nashville Songwriters Association International and the Songwriters Guild of America.
