Gene Dobbins
Gene Dobbins, born Eugene David Dobbins on March 19, 1934, in Shelby County, Tennessee, was a notable American country songwriter and arranger. He passed away on November 23, 2008, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Throughout his career, Dobbins made significant contributions to the country music genre, writing and arranging numerous songs for various artists. Some of his notable works include "She's My Rock" by George Jones, "Super Fool" by Carl Perkins, "She's Everywhere" by Eddy Arnold, and "Easy As Pie" by Billy 'Crash' Craddock. He also composed songs like "He's Everywhere" for Sammi Smith and "Rock On Baby" for Brenda Lee. Dobbins was married to Charlene Thompson, his second wife, on May 2, 1979, in Cheatham County, Tennessee, and had two brothers, Jerry Lee Dobbins and Jimmy Dobbins. His parents were Alfred David Dobbins and Helen I McKinstry Dobbins. Gene Dobbins is buried in Somerville Cemetery, Somerville, Fayette County, Tennessee.
