Joe Beal
Joe Beal, born Joseph Mills Carleton Beal on June 25, 1900, in Braintree, Massachusetts, was a notable American lyricist and music publisher. He studied at the Boston School of Radio and Television in 1930 and lived with his widowed mother in New York City. Beal worked as a production manager for WDSU television in New Orleans and WRUL television in New York City between 1938 and 1940. By 1951, he had founded his own public relations firm and became a record company executive. Later, he became a music publisher in Atlantic City.

Joe Beal is best known for co-writing the classic holiday song "Jingle Bell Rock" with Jim Boothe, which was published by Rosarita Music in New York in 1957. The song gained immense popularity and has been recorded by numerous artists, becoming a staple of Christmas music playlists worldwide. In addition to "Jingle Bell Rock," Beal contributed to other musical works, including "Unsuspecting Heart," "The U.S.A. March," "The Heavens Cried," "Take the Time," "Winter Champagne," and "Welcome Conventioneer," the official song of Atlantic City.

Joe Beal passed away in October 1967 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, leaving behind a legacy as a significant contributor to American music.
