Jorge Macias
Jorge Macías Gómez, known professionally as Jorge Massías, was born on May 21, 1948, in Villaflores, Chiapas, Mexico, and later moved to Mexico City. He was the son of Edgardo Macías Gutiérrez and Etelvina Gómez Domínguez. Initially pursuing a career in Dentistry, his passion for music led him to become a promoter at Intersong, now Warner Chappell. In 1972, he penned his first composition, "Al ir caminando."

Massías was a prolific composer, collaborating with notable figures such as Rubén Fuentes, Gil Rivera, and Mario Molina Montes. His most successful songs include "Con La Misma Piedra," "Lástima Que Seas Ajena," and "Nube Viajera." His compositions spanned various genres, including pop, ballad, ranchera, and regional Mexican music. Renowned artists like Vicente Fernández, Alejandro Fernández, and Julio Iglesias have performed his works.

Jorge Massías was a finalist in the Festival OTI de la Canción in 1982 and 1983, and his song "Enamorado de la vida" represented Mexico in the international festival in Valencia, Spain, in 1992. He passed away on May 25, 2015, leaving behind a legacy of influential music that continues to resonate within the Mexican cultural landscape.
