Adil Fiodorov
Adil Fiodorov, full name Adil Vladimirovich Fedorov, is a distinguished Russian clarinetist and professor born in 1948 in Leningrad, into a family of musicians. He began his formal music education at the age of seven at the Special Music School of the Leningrad State Conservatory, focusing on the clarinet. Fedorov graduated with a silver medal and later completed his studies with honors at the Leningrad State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, where he learned under the tutelage of renowned musicians V.N. Krasavin for clarinet and M.V. Karandashova for chamber ensemble. He further honed his skills through an assistant internship, completed in 1973.

In the same year, Fedorov joined the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Leningrad Philharmonic as the principal clarinetist, touring extensively across 30 countries. As a soloist, he performed under the baton of notable conductors such as A. Dmitriev, S. Sondeckis, E. Serov, A. Vedernikov, V. Ziva, A. Titov, and Y. Domarkas. His solo and ensemble performances have taken him to Switzerland, Germany, Macedonia, and Slovakia.

Fedorov has a profound interest in chamber music, boasting a diverse and extensive repertoire. He has premiered numerous global music pieces in Russia and inspired contemporary St. Petersburg composers to write works specifically for him. His discography includes compositions by W.A. Mozart, I. Stravinsky, S. Prokofiev, B. Tchaikovsky, G. Ustvolskaya, and P. Shlain. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with eminent musicians such as B. Pergamenschikow, N. Gutman, A. Lyubimov, V. Buyanovsky, A. Ugorsky, G. Kovalyova, and M. Gantvarg.

Since 1975, Fedorov has been imparting his knowledge at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, where he teaches a class on chamber ensemble. His students have gone on to win international competitions and join leading music ensembles in Russia and abroad. In recognition of his contributions, Fedorov was honored with the title of Honored Artist of Russia in 1991 and was appointed as a professor in 2006.
