She gained prominence in the late 1940s and early 1950s, known for her vivacious and lively voice that captured the spirit of the "filone dell’allegria" or "the line of cheerfulness" in Italian music. Her career began in 1947 when she won a competition for new voices organized by Radio Roma, which led to her being chosen by maestro Cinico Angelini for his orchestra.
From 1948 to 1953, Clara Jaione was a popular figure on Italian radio, performing with Armando Fragna, who composed a series of humorous songs that suited her bright and playful vocal style. Some of her well-loved songs include "I pompieri di Viggiù," "Alle Terme di Caracalla," and "Arrivano i nostri." Her popularity was such that she was featured on the cover of the first issue of the magazine "Sorrisi e Canzoni" in October 1952.
In 1955, Jaione participated in the Sanremo Music Festival with the songs "Era un omino" and "Zucchero e pepe." However, she retired from her musical career in the mid-1950s to focus on her family. Despite her retirement, she occasionally returned to the public eye, appearing on television shows such as Paolo Limiti's program in the late 1990s and "I migliori anni" in 2008, as well as "Affari tuoi" in 2009, where she performed her iconic song "I pompieri di Viggiù."
Clara Jaione's discography includes several singles released under the Cetra label, with notable songs like "I pompieri di Viggiù" and "Arrivano i nostri."
