Carmen Lahrmann
Carmen Lahrmann, born Carmen Lahrmann Zirke on October 30, 1925, in Berlin, Germany, is a former German dubbing artist, child actress, and singer. Coming from a theater family, she received dance and acting lessons and secured a small role at the Komische Oper Berlin. In 1936, she was chosen by Deutsche Fox to dub Shirley Temple's film roles in German. She played the title role in the 1937 film "Monika – Eine Mutter kämpft um ihr Kind" directed by Heinz Helbig, alongside Maria Andergast. Although there was an attempt by the Nazis to promote her as the German equivalent of Shirley Temple, this effort was unsuccessful.

From 1936 to 1939, Lahrmann recorded songs for Deutsche Grammophon, including German versions of Shirley Temple's songs. During World War II, she continued to work as an actress and solo dancer, performing for Wehrmacht tours. After the war, she transitioned to other careers, working at a cinema box office in Berlin and later for the U.S. airline Pan Am. She eventually trained to become an educator. A comeback attempt in the mid-1950s did not succeed.

Her discography includes tracks like "Tanze und sing" and "Mein Weihnachtswunsch," and her album "Auf meinem Teller" was released in 1950. Despite her early fame, Carmen Lahrmann's later attempts to revive her entertainment career were not successful, and she moved on to other professional endeavors.
