Leo Monosson
Leo Monosson (1897–1967) was a Russian-born tenor singer, originally from Moscow, who gained prominence in Germany between 1928 and 1933. Known for his linguistic prowess, Monosson spoke eleven languages and recorded over 1400 records, with one of his most famous songs being "Liebling, mein Herz lässt dich grüßen" performed with the Ben Berlin Orchestra. In addition to his singing career, he was also an actor, featuring in films such as the musical "The Three From the Filling Station." As a Jewish artist, Monosson was forced to leave Germany in 1933 due to the rise of the Nazi regime. He relocated first to France and subsequently to the United States, where he reinvented himself as a stamp trader in New York.
