Don Hecht
Donn Hecht, born on April 18, 1930, in Pittsburgh, was an American songwriter, screenwriter, and agent, notable for his contributions to the music industry. Hecht is best known as the co-writer of the song "Walkin' After Midnight," alongside Alan Block. This song became a significant hit for Patsy Cline and has been covered by numerous artists over the years. In 1958, Hecht, along with songwriter Jack Moon, founded the label Tod Records, releasing tracks like "Hey Mister Moonbeam" and "Crazy Dreamer," which they co-wrote and were recorded by Rex Dennis.

Throughout his career, Hecht achieved collective career sales of approximately 24 million. His work earned him several accolades, including the Billboard Gold Medallion, which he received three times, with two of his songs reaching the top ten and one achieving the #1 spot in 2000. He was also honored with the Broadcast Music Inc. Special Citation of Achievement award in the same year. Recognized as a notable figure in his field, Hecht was listed by Marquis Who's Who for his contributions as a songwriter, screenwriter, and agent. Donn Hecht passed away on October 18, 2002, in Miami, Florida, at the age of 72.
