Michelle Wright, born on July 1, 1961, in Chatham, Ontario, Canada, is a renowned Canadian country music artist. She grew up in Merlin, Ontario, where her parents were local music performers, which influenced her early interest in music. Wright began her music career in 1980 while in college, performing with a local band before forming her own band in 1983. Her career took a significant turn in 1985 when she signed with Savannah Records and released her debut single, "I Want to Count on You," followed by her debut album, "Do Right by Me," in 1988.
