Luke Garrett
Luke Garrett was a remarkable vocalist and songwriter whose musical journey began in Dallas in the mid-1980s. Known for his extraordinary voice, Luke first gained attention during a recording session for the Disabled American Veterans in 1986. He soon collaborated with artists like Chris Machen and Sammy Davenport, recording the enduring song "I Have Seen the Light." Over the years, Luke's talent led to the production of three full CDs, showcasing his ability to bring songs to life with unique and varied performances.
Luke's musical career was characterized by a deep connection with his craft, never singing a song the same way twice. His adventurous spirit was evident both in his music and his life. A talented songwriter, Luke penned numerous songs, including "As If I Were the Only One to Love," "Magnify," "All Praise Rising," and "It’s Still the Cross."
In the final years of his life, Luke embarked on an independent recording project, intending to feature songs written by a close collaborator. Tragically, this project was left unfinished due to Luke's sudden passing from a heart attack on June 10. Despite this loss, Luke Garrett's legacy endures through his powerful vocal performances and his contributions to both sacred and secular music.
