Luis Gómez Escolar
Luis Gómez-Escolar Roldán, born in León, Spain, in 1949, is a renowned Spanish musician, lyricist, and composer. He is recognized for his extensive work in songwriting and music production, having registered around 1,800 songs with SGAE. Gómez-Escolar started his musical journey as part of the folk group Aguaviva while studying psychology at university. After the group's dissolution, he collaborated with Honorio Herrero and Julio Seijas, releasing a solo album under the pseudonym Simone and later forming the satirical group La Charanga del Tío Honorio.

Throughout his career, Gómez-Escolar has composed successful songs for a wide range of artists, including Ricky Martin, Camilo Sesto, Miguel Bosé, Mocedades, Dyango, José José, Paloma San Basilio, Sergio Dalma, and Luis Miguel. He is also known for adapting international hits into Spanish for artists such as Raffaella Carrà, Eros Ramazzotti, and Roxette. Some of his notable compositions include "La copa de la vida" (Ricky Martin), "Fiesta" (Raffaella Carrà), "Linda" (Miguel Bosé), and "Bailar pegados" (Sergio Dalma).

Gómez-Escolar was engaged to the singer Cecilia until her untimely death in 1976, after which he focused on writing lyrics. He was involved with the Movida Madrileña music scene, producing for groups like Radio Futura and founding the record label Rara Avis with his wife, Miluca Sanz. His work has left a significant mark on Spanish pop and Latin music.
