Rene Alonzo y su Banda Lazzer
Rene Alonso Orellana Alfaro, born on May 8, 1966, in San Salvador, El Salvador, is a prominent figure in Central American music, particularly known for his contributions to the "chunchaca" genre. He was born into a middle-class family, with his father, Lisandro "Chando" Orellana, being Honduran, and his mother, Ana Aracely Peñate, Salvadoran. Rene's artistic journey began at the age of five when he appeared on the Sunday program "Jardin Infantil," showcasing his exceptional singing talent.

By the age of 12, Rene had developed a remarkable skill in percussion, performing with his father's music group. At 17, he joined the international group "Espíritu Libre," where he excelled as a percussionist and vocalist. After eight years with the group, he formed his own band, "Rene Alonso y su Banda Lasser," in 1988.

Over his 20-year career, Rene Alonso has received numerous national and international accolades. His most significant hit, "La chica de humo," became a massive success, resonating with fans across his national and international tours. As a composer and performer, he has produced hits like "Solo mentiras," "Vuelve," and "El juego es tuyo."

Rene has released over 20 albums and completed 52 tours, sharing stages with renowned artists such as Marco Antonio Solis, Selena, Los Tigres del Norte, and Banda El Recodo. After a two-and-a-half-year tour in the United States and a special collaboration with the urban cumbia group "Crooked Stilo," he returned to El Salvador. His cover "La Cumbia no debe morir" was awarded "Song of the Year" nationally in 2008.

Rene Alonso also participated in the second season of "Bailando por un sueño, El Salvador," securing second place. With numerous projects ahead, Rene continues to captivate his audience with his signature battle cry, "Pura Uva Mami!"
