Elias Arias
Elias Arias, known by his stage name Elias, is a French singer-songwriter born on October 15, 1980, in Bayonne, France. He is known for his work in the genres of chanson and French pop. An autodidact musician, Elias began playing piano and guitar in 1997. He joined the French band Babylon and performed over a hundred public shows until 2000, including opening for the Wailers in Biarritz on November 11, 1999.
In the early 2000s, Elias started composing his own songs and collaborated with Maurice Vallet, a writer known for working with Julien Clerc. Between 2003 and 2006, Elias wrote songs for various artists, particularly those from reality TV shows like Star Academy and Nouvelle Star, after signing a contract with Free Demo, a publishing house in Paris.
Elias took a professional break between 2007 and 2008, returning in 2009 to perform his own songs. He released his first LP, "Des roses en hiver," in February 2012, which was financed through Akamusic, a crowdfunding site. The album features themes of love and includes contributions from writers such as Laura Bismuth and Maurice Vallet.
In 2014, Elias began working on his second LP, "Un nouveau jour se lève," with influences from Anglo-Saxon bands like Muse and Coldplay. He continued to collaborate with various writers, including Sabine Cardinal and François Welgryn.
Elias has opened for several notable artists in concerts, such as Helene Segara in Toulouse and Didier Barbelivien in Biarritz. He has also performed solo shows, including a notable performance in Brussels on February 25, 2012.
His discography includes two albums, "Des roses en hiver" (2012) and "Un nouveau jour se lève" (2014), and singles like "Changer les mots" and "La vie est belle" from 2011. Elias has also contributed to songs for other artists, such as Julien Laurence and Michal.
