Lilo Gonzales
Lilo Gonzalez is a singer and songwriter known for his engaging and thoughtful music that promotes unity and a better world across cultures. Originally a grade school teacher in El Salvador, Lilo was inspired by the poetic lyrics of Joan Manuel Serrat and Facundo Cabral during a time of social unrest and civil war. As an undocumented immigrant in the United States, he found solace in music, drawing influence from artists like Ruben Blades and Pete Seeger.
Lilo's career in music education began with teaching preschool children, where he used music to foster creativity and cultural awareness. His efforts led him to manage multiple music programs, earning him the affectionate title "Mr. Lilo" among families.
His music and persona emphasize community building, hope, and justice, leading to performances at prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage, the New York Lincoln Center, and President Clinton’s Inauguration. Lilo released his first children's CD in 2016, followed by another album, continuing to engage audiences with his recordings and performances.
