All Stars
Allstars (stylised as allSTARS*) were a British pop group active from 2001 to 2002. The band consisted of Sam Bloom, Thaila Zucchi, Ashley Taylor Dawson, Rebecca Hunter, and Sandi Lee Hughes. The name "allSTARS*" was derived from the initial letters of the members' first names. They achieved moderate chart success in the UK, with four Top 20 singles. Their debut single "Best Friends" reached No. 20 in June 2001. A subsequent double A-side single, featuring "Things That Go Bump in the Night" and a cover of Duran Duran's "Is There Something I Should Know?", peaked at No. 12 in September 2001. Their cover of Bucks Fizz's "The Land of Make Believe" became their only top 10 hit, reaching No. 9 in January 2002. Their final single, another double A-side with "Back When" and "Going All the Way", reached No. 19 in April 2002.
The group also starred in their own television show, STARStreet*, on CITV, where they played fictionalized versions of themselves. The show aired from 2001 to 2002, with two seasons produced. Despite their initial success, the band's self-titled debut album peaked at only No. 43 on the UK Albums Chart, leading to their split from Island Records and their eventual disbandment in June 2002. After the split, members pursued various careers, with Thaila Zucchi engaging in television presenting and acting, and Rebecca Hunter appearing in the soap opera Family Affairs.
