Septeto Sones De Oriente
Septeto Sones de Oriente is a distinguished Cuban musical group founded by tres player Delfino Puente in Santiago de Cuba in October 1938. With a rich history spanning over 85 years, the septet is renowned for its dedication to traditional Cuban music, particularly the Son genre native to the eastern region of the country. Currently led by tres and cuatro player Yuri Rivera, the group continues to celebrate and innovate within this tradition. Their latest album, "Camínalo," released under the EGREM label, features a diverse array of previously unreleased tracks (with the exception of track 12), showcasing styles from Son to Guaracha and Bolero. The album's compositions predominantly highlight the talents of Santiago de Cuba's local songwriters, underscoring the group's ongoing commitment to representing the vibrant musical culture of their hometown.
