La Bande A Basile
La Bande à Basile is a French music group formed in the late 1970s, known for their vibrant performances and catchy tunes in the chanson française and variété genres. The group was initiated by Claude-Michel Schönberg, Alain Boublil, and Raymond Jeannot. They made their television debut in 1977 on Michel Drucker's show "Les Rendez-vous du dimanche" with the song "Les Chansons françaises." Their costumes draw inspiration from the Commedia dell'arte, adding a theatrical flair to their performances.

The group gained popularity with singles like "La Chenille," which became a significant hit, selling 2 million copies in France. In the late 1980s, their song "On va faire la java," featuring André Verchuren, also achieved considerable success, reaching the top 5 of the singles chart in July 1989.

La Bande à Basile played a role in launching the careers of several French singers, including Julie Pietri and Sloane. Despite changes in their lineup over the years, the group remained active, participating in events such as the Âge tendre tour in 2010 alongside other French music icons. As of that year, they had sold a total of 2 million singles. The group continues to be remembered for its lively music and contributions to the French music scene.
