Doris Day, originally named Doris Mary Kappelhoff, was born on April 3, 1922, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and passed away on May 13, 2019, in Carmel Valley, California. She was a prominent American actress and singer whose career spanned nearly five decades. Day began her career as a big band singer in 1937, achieving significant success with Les Brown and His Band of Renown, notably with the hits "Sentimental Journey" and "My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time." She embarked on a solo career in 1947, recording over 650 songs, including her signature hit "Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)."

Day made her film debut in "Romance on the High Seas" (1948) and became a leading Hollywood star with roles in films such as "Calamity Jane" (1953), "The Man Who Knew Too Much" (1956), and a series of comedies with Rock Hudson, including "Pillow Talk" (1959). She was one of the top box-office stars of the 1960s and later starred in "The Doris Day Show" from 1968 to 1973.
