Nathaniel "Nate" Rathbun, professionally known as Audien, is an American DJ, record producer, and musician born on January 11, 1992, in New London, Connecticut. Raised in a musical household in Mystic, Connecticut, with a mother who was a jazz aficionado, Audien was introduced to electronic dance music in 2008 through trance songs featured in video game soundtracks. He quickly became fascinated with the genre, learning to recreate tracks from Armin Van Buuren's A State of Trance podcasts.

Audien's career began at age 17 when he signed with Ferry Corsten's Flashover Recordings, releasing his first single "Rise & Shine." Over the years, he has released music on several prominent labels, including Anjunabeats, Armada Music, Spinnin’ Records, and Astralwerks, establishing himself as a fixture in the dance music community known for his uplifting melodies.

In 2015, Audien signed with Astralwerks and released his debut EP 'Daydreams,' featuring the standout track "Rooms." That same year, he received a Grammy nomination for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical for his remix of Bastille's "Pompeii," which became a global hit. His single "Insomnia" peaked at number one on the US Dance Charts, and "Something Better" featuring Lady Antebellum reached the Billboard Top 40.

Audien continued to build his reputation with tracks like "Crazy Love" featuring Deb's Daughter and collaborations with artists like MAX and 3LAU. He released his EP 'Some Ideas' in 2017 and returned to Anjunabeats in 2018 with "Higher" and "Never Letting Go" with Arty. In 2019, Audien released his LP ‘Escapism,’ further solidifying his signature style.

In recent years, Audien has continued to innovate, releasing singles like "Wish It Was You" with Cate Downey and "One Last Dance" featuring Xira, both of which topped the Dance Radio charts. In 2022, he launched the ‘Progressive House Never Died’ brand, leading to a sold-out North American tour. Audien remains a prominent figure in the electronic music scene, known for his progressive house and melodic trance productions.
