Odessa Symphony Orchestra
The Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra, founded in 1937, is a prominent cultural institution from Odessa, Ukraine, a city with a rich musical heritage. The orchestra is renowned for being the first symphony orchestra from Ukraine to cross both the Atlantic Ocean and the Equator. Under the dynamic leadership of music director Hobart Earle, the orchestra's status was elevated from regional to national, marking it as the only performing arts institution in Ukraine to achieve such a distinction since the country's independence in 1991.

The orchestra's members are primarily graduates of the Odessa Conservatory, with many having roots in the prestigious Stoliarsky School. Throughout its history, the orchestra has performed under notable conductors such as Nathan Rachlin, Yuri Temirkanov, and Kurt Sanderling. During the Soviet era, the orchestra was confined to domestic performances, but with Ukraine's independence, it gained the opportunity to tour internationally.

The Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra has performed in prestigious venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Barbican Hall in London, and the Musikverein in Vienna. It has also made significant contributions to the promotion of Ukrainian music through its "Music of Ukraine" CD series, featuring previously unrecorded works by Ukrainian composers. The orchestra's achievements and international presence have made it a distinguished ambassador of Ukrainian culture on the global stage.
