Camerata Labacensis
Camerata Labacensis is a Slovenian chamber orchestra founded in the 1980s, primarily composed of soloists from the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra. The ensemble's repertoire spans all musical periods, showcasing their versatility and depth in classical music interpretation. The orchestra's first Artistic Director was Anton Nanut, and they have been involved in various notable projects, including collaborations with the Silent Film Festival in Pordenone and performances for the five and a half hour-long silent film "Napoleon" by Abel Gance. Camerata Labacensis has also participated in contemporary projects such as "Funk & Latin Jazz in Film Town" by Rok Golob and "Love Tango" at the Salzburg Land Theatre in Austria. In 2008, they were featured at the Ljubljana Festival. The current director, Franc Avsenek, is a faculty member at the Academy of Music at the University of Ljubljana and a recipient of the Betetto Award for his contributions to musical art. Their discography includes numerous recordings, particularly of Mozart's works, reflecting their strong classical roots and international collaborations.
