Sonja Sjöbeck
Sonia Sjöbeck, born on March 10, 1921, in Helsingborg, Sweden, was a renowned Swedish singer and vocalist. She passed away on February 24, 2006, in Tullinge, Sweden. Sjöbeck began her musical career as a vocalist with Cecil's orchestra at Höganäs Folkets Park and gained prominence in 1940 as the lead vocalist for Thore Ehrling's orchestra. Her breakthrough came with the songs "En månskenspromenad" and her rendition of the American classic "All the Things You Are" by Kern and Hammerstein.

During the 1940s, she performed with several Swedish big bands and was admired not only for her beautiful voice but also for her appearance, achieving fourth place in the "Sveriges Lucia" competition. However, Sjöbeck temporarily left the music scene due to a skin condition caused by makeup, and Britt-Inger Dreilick succeeded her in Thore Ehrling's orchestra.

She made a comeback in the 1950s as a solo artist, releasing several hits, including "Utan dig," a Swedish schlager by Gunnar Hoffsten that became popular in the USA under the title "I Confess," sung by Perry Como. Sjöbeck became a prominent artist for the Polydor label during the early 1950s and toured the Soviet Union in 1955.

Throughout her career, Sonia Sjöbeck recorded over 130 tracks and occasionally used the pseudonym Chris Sanders. In 1992, she made a brief return to music, re-recording her hit "En månskenspromenad." Her son, Magnus Sjöbeck, also ventured into music, recording "Pappas lilla hemlighet" with Charlie Norman in 1954.
