Sébastien Farge
Sébastien Farge is a renowned French accordionist, composer, arranger, and educator. He began playing the accordion at the age of six and quickly gained recognition as a child prodigy, winning numerous departmental and regional competition prizes. By the age of twenty, Farge was already a vice laureate of the French Cup and the President of the Republic’s prize, and he had also received the prestigious “Jean Ségurel” prize and the World Accordion Trophy in Portugal.

Throughout his career, Farge has performed on festival stages across France, Europe, and North America. He has collaborated with prominent artists, including blues-rock guitarist Ben Harper, and has appeared on various radio and TV shows. In his early thirties, he furthered his musical education by obtaining prizes in orchestration, harmony, fugue, and counterpoint from the Limoges Conservatory. He has arranged, composed, and conducted master classes, contributing to numerous recording projects.

In 2014, Farge released the album “Ségurel for ever” under the Laborie Jazz label, which won the “Grand Prix du Disque” for the “Gus Viseur” prize in 2015. At forty, he became the Artistic Director of “Les Nuits de Nacre” in Tulle, one of France's largest accordion festivals. Farge remains committed to education, teaching future generations of accordionists, and exploring various musical genres, including jazz, contemporary music, and musette. He is known for his innovative approach to combining written and improvised music, and he continues to perform and compose, deeply inspired by his native Limousin region and beyond.
