He is the son of Rex Allen, a renowned figure in the country music scene. Rex Allen Jr. began his career in the early 1970s and achieved success with hits such as "Goodbye" (1974), "I'm Gettin Good at Missing You (Solitaire)" (1977), and "Lonely Street" (1977). He is also recognized for composing and performing "Arizona," the alternate state anthem of Arizona. Throughout his career, Allen Jr. released several studio albums, including "Today's Generation" (1971), "Ridin' High" (1976), and "Brand New" (1978). He was a regular on The Statler Brothers Show on TNN during the 1990s and hosted the spin-off series Yesteryear.
