Jossie Esteban Y La Patrulla 15
Jossie Esteban y La Patrulla 15 is a prominent Merengue band originating from La Vega, Dominican Republic. The group was formed in May 1979 by childhood friends Jossie Esteban (born Esteban Grullón) and Alberto Martínez, known as Ringo. Initially, both pursued their studies in Puerto Rico, temporarily stepping away from music. Upon reuniting, they decided to formalize their musical endeavors, leading to the creation of Jossie Esteban y La Patrulla 15, which included Dominican and Puerto Rican musicians.

Their debut album, "El Cuchu Cu Cha," was a significant success, propelling them to record over 20 albums. The band received numerous accolades, such as the "Gold Congo" in Colombia, "Orchestra of the Year" in New York, and several platinum records. Some of their hit songs include "Agua de Coco," "Pirulo," "El Can," and "Un Hombre Busca Una Mujer."

The band was active until 1998, after which Jossie Esteban embarked on a solo career, releasing nine studio albums. In 1992, he also became part of the successful Merengue group Zona Roja. After a long career in entertainment, Jossie Esteban took a sabbatical to focus on his spirituality, eventually returning to music with a focus on sacred music.
