La Misma Gente is a Colombian salsa group founded in 1978 in Palmira, Valle del Cauca, located 27 km east of Cali. The group has been an influential part of the salsa music scene in Colombia. Over the years, the band has included members such as Alex Sarria, Alvaro Marín, Carlos A. Agudelo, Guido A. Valencia, Jaime Rodrigo Henao, Jorge Herrera, José Hugo Gutiérrez, Luis Valdez, Nelson Morales, and Rey Calderon. La Misma Gente is known for its vibrant performances and contributions to the salsa genre, and it has released numerous albums, singles, and compilations throughout its career.
