Tito Rojas
Tito Rojas, born Julio César Rojas López on June 14, 1955, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, was a celebrated salsa vocalist and songwriter whose career spanned over five decades. Known as "El Gallo Salsero," Rojas became a major star in the salsa genre, with hits like "Siempre Seré" and "Señora de Madrugada" becoming standards in the repertoire. His recording career began in 1972 with "Aquí Empezó la Historia," but he gained national recognition in the late 1970s while fronting Justo Betancourt's Su Conjunto Borincuba. Rojas achieved commercial success with albums such as "Con Amor" (1978) and "Aqui" (1979).

In the 1980s, Rojas joined Puerto Rican Power, releasing the successful albums "Tres Mujeres" (1987) and "Solo Con un Beso" (1988). He returned to solo recording in the 1990s, producing hits like "Sensual" (1991) and "Por Derecho Propio" (1995), the latter reaching double platinum status. Rojas was recognized with numerous awards, including three Latin Grammy nominations for Best Salsa Album.

Throughout his career, Rojas released over 50 albums and more than 60 charting singles, with many reaching the Top 20. He continued to perform to sold-out audiences across the Caribbean and the Americas. Tito Rojas passed away on December 26, 2020, in his hometown of Humacao, Puerto Rico, following a heart attack, just two days after his final performance.
