Hermanas Vera
Las Hermanas Vera, originally known as Las Hermanitas Vera, are a celebrated musical duo from Caá Catí, in the province of Corrientes, Argentina. The duo consists of sisters Rafaela "Rafa" Vera and Bonifacia "Bonni" Vera. They began their musical journey in their adolescence, inspired by their father Félix Vera, a rural worker and chamamé musician who played the accordion and guitar. Their initial public performances were at school events and church, where Rafaela first showcased her musical talent.

The sisters gained early recognition by winning a music contest at a local amusement park and later at the Festival of Santo Tomé in Corrientes. Encouraged by renowned musician Eduardo Miño and the Barrios brothers, they embarked on professional tours across northern Argentina and the country's littoral region.

In 1972, Las Hermanas Vera relocated to Buenos Aires and recorded their first album with the now-defunct label Mburucuyá. The album's success led to a contract with Music Hall, marking the beginning of a prolific recording career. Over the years, they have released numerous albums under various labels, including Microfón, CBS, and Epsa Music, and have been recognized with prestigious awards such as the Gardel Awards in 2020 and 2022.

Las Hermanas Vera are known for their contributions to Argentine folk music, particularly in the chamamé genre. They have performed at major festivals like the Festival Nacional de Folklore de Cosquín and the Festival del Chamamé in Corrientes, and their music has reached audiences in neighboring countries and Europe. In 2019, they celebrated 50 years in music with a national tour and the release of a biographical book titled "Memoria y recuerdo."

With over 100 registered compositions, some of their notable works include "Evocando a mi tierra," "Fue triste decirte adiós," and "Tu distancia y mi dolor," which earned them a "Disco de Oro" for selling 100,000 copies. Today, Bonifacia resides in Corrientes, while Rafaela lives in Buenos Aires.
