Tullio Mobiglia
Tullio Mobiglia was an Italian saxophonist and violinist, born on April 12, 1911, in Carezzano, Italy, and passed away on July 24, 1991, in Helsinki, Finland. Renowned as possibly the best Italian jazz saxophonist of his generation, Mobiglia had a significant impact on the jazz scene. He traveled to the United States multiple times as part of a ship orchestra, which provided him the opportunity to interact and jam with prominent American jazz saxophonists, including Coleman Hawkins.

In 1940, Mobiglia made his first visit to Berlin with the Italian Orchestra Mirador. By February 1941, he had joined the Heinz Wehner Orchestra and subsequently formed his own sextet, performing in Berlin's Patria Bar from April to November 1941. During this period, he made his first recordings and participated in the Komiker Cafe's musical revue "Dreams About Me."

Between 1942 and August 1943, Mobiglia's Bar-Orchestra played at Berlin's Rosita Bar, where they recorded the hit "Lieber Sonnenschein," a jazz rendition of the song "Pippo Non Lo Sa." After returning to Italy in 1943, Mobiglia resumed his recording activities in 1945, forming a new orchestra and later recording with various labels. He also revisited his initial instrument, the violin.

In 1967, Mobiglia relocated to Finland, where he taught violin at the Jan Sibelius Conservatory in Helsinki until the 1980s. Throughout his career, Mobiglia was associated with groups like Tullio Mobiglia E La Sua Orchestra and Tullio Mobiglia Mit Seinem Bar-Orchester, leaving a lasting legacy in the jazz genre.
