Egon Kaiser
Egon Kaiser was a prominent German bandleader and arranger, born on August 25, 1901, in Berlin, where he also passed away on July 11, 1982. After completing his music studies, Kaiser worked at the Staatsoper Berlin and served as a Kapellmeister at the Metropol-Theater from 1925 to 1926. He was a violinist with the Berliner Philharmoniker from 1926 to 1929. In 1929, under the commission of the Reichs-Rundfunk-Gesellschaft, he founded an entertainment and dance orchestra. His orchestra performed in Berlin venues and was involved in numerous recordings and film compositions, often under pseudonyms like Mario Elki and Harry Hiller. Kaiser's orchestra accompanied many well-known schlager singers on various recordings throughout the 1930s. He remained active with his orchestra until his death and was laid to rest in the Berliner Heidefriedhof, although his gravesite is no longer maintained. Kaiser's filmography includes works such as "Die Rose von Stambul" (1953) and "The Happy Wanderer" (1955).
