Sergei Yevtushenko
Sergei Yevtushenko, born on September 5, 1957, in Leningrad, is a distinguished Russian composer, conductor, and music producer. A member of the Union of Composers of Russia since 1990, Yevtushenko has been influential in both educational and artistic spheres. He served as a professor at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and the Special Music School from 1984 to 1998. In 1990, he became the director of the CAMERATA St. Petersburg Orchestra, later known as the Orchestra of the State Hermitage Museum.

In 1997, Yevtushenko took on the role of Director of the Hermitage Music Academy Charity Foundation, and since 2001, he has been the Artistic Director of the Hermitage Music Academy Program and its International Music Festivals, including The Musical Hermitage and Music of the Greater Hermitage.

Yevtushenko has composed music for various films, notably collaborating with director Alexander Sokurov on "Russian Ark" in 2002. He also composed and conducted music for the Finnish-Russian co-production "RAJA.1918" in 2007, earning a nomination for Best Music at the Jussi Awards in Finland. His work extends to international projects, including a documentary about Leo Tolstoy and a feature film titled "Symphony," set during World War II.

An accomplished improvisational pianist, Yevtushenko caught the attention of Sony representatives in 1994, leading to an eight-hour improvisation session that was released as a six-CD package. His contributions to music and film continue to resonate, marking him as a significant figure in contemporary Russian music.
