Wolfram
Wolfram Eckert, known professionally as Wolfram, is an Austrian electronic dance music disc jockey and record producer born in 1983 in St. Veit an der Glan, Austria. He is recognized for his contributions to the Eurodance and Italo disco genres and has made a name for himself in the fashion industry as a DJ. Wolfram's musical journey began in Carinthia, near the Austrian-Italian border, where his father introduced him to classic electronic music artists like Kraftwerk and Jean-Michel Jarre. He furthered his education in sound engineering at The SAE Institute in Vienna and studied digital media at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
Wolfram's career gained momentum in New York, where his DJ sets, known for blending Italo disco and Chicago house sounds, attracted attention. He collaborated with artists such as Princess Superstar and Legowelt and played a significant role in the debut album of Sally Shapiro, "Disco Romance." His 2008 remix of Moby's track "Disco Lies," produced under the alias Diskokaine, also contributed to his early success.
In 2011, Wolfram released his self-titled debut album featuring collaborations with Haddaway and Paul Parker on the Permanent Vacation record label. His second studio album, "Amadeus," was released in 2019 and included contributions from Peaches, Pamela Anderson, and Falco. Wolfram has performed at notable venues and events, including Circoloco in Ibiza and clubs in New York, as well as private events for celebrities like Grace Jones and Moby. He is also a sought-after DJ at fashion events for brands such as Gucci, Balenciaga, and Vivienne Westwood. In 2023, he collaborated with Zalando for their "Make Your Own Moment" campaign. Wolfram was nominated for an Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the Electronic/Dance category in 2012.
