Wisam Gibran
Wisam Gibran, born in 1970 in Nazareth, is a distinguished writer, music scholar, and composer. He pursued his education in musical composition, earning a Master's degree from Moscow's Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 1994, and another Master's as well as a Ph.D. from Hoch Schule Hanns Eisler in Berlin. In 2000, Gibran founded the Arab-Jewish Youth Orchestra, and in 2013, he established a music academy in Nazareth, which he continues to operate. His prolific career includes composing hundreds of musical works for solo instruments, voice and instrument arrangements, and orchestral pieces for film and stage productions. Gibran has also published three volumes of poetry, alongside various papers and translations. His work often explores themes of freedom and the boundaries of self-expression, as seen in his essays on Palestinian artists.
