Henri Contet
Henri Contet (1904–1998) was a multifaceted French artist, known primarily for his work as a lyricist. Born on May 8, 1904, in Anost, Saône-et-Loire, France, Contet's career spanned several artistic domains, including engineering, acting, film criticism, and journalism. He achieved significant acclaim as a lyricist, having penned over 1,000 songs for notable singers such as Édith Piaf, Yves Montand, Mireille Mathieu, and Ute Lemper. His contributions to French music were recognized with the prestigious Legion of Honor in 1956. Contet was also involved in the film industry, contributing soundtracks to films like "The Quiet American" (2002), "La Vie En Rose" (2007), and "Saving Private Ryan" (1998).
