Leslie Mandoki
Leslie Mándoki, born László Mándoki on January 7, 1953, in Budapest, Hungary, is a renowned Hungarian-German musician, singer, drummer, and record producer. He initially gained fame as a member of the German pop band Dschinghis Khan, which represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1979. Despite his success with Dschinghis Khan, Mándoki felt more aligned with rock music and eventually pursued a solo career, releasing his first solo album "Back to Myself" in 1982.

Mándoki's journey began in Hungary, where he studied drums and percussion at the musical conservatory in Budapest. In 1975, he fled Hungary to escape the communist regime, eventually settling in Germany. His passion for music led him to form the Mandoki Soulmates in 1992, a supergroup that blends progressive rock with jazz influences. The group has featured numerous notable artists such as Ian Anderson, Jack Bruce, Al Di Meola, and many others.

Throughout his career, Mándoki has been a successful music producer, working with international artists like Phil Collins, Lionel Richie, and Jennifer Rush. He has also contributed to various projects as a musical director for commercials and has been involved in television productions.

The Mandoki Soulmates have been active for over three decades, and their latest album, "A Memory of Our Future," marks their first official release in North America, continuing their tradition of merging British prog rock with American jazz. Mándoki's work remains a testament to his vision of uniting diverse musical styles and talents.
