Michael Cretu, also known as Curly MC, is a Romanian-German musician, composer, and producer born on May 18, 1957, in Bucharest, Romania. He is renowned for founding the musical project Enigma in 1990, which gained international acclaim with its debut album, "MCMXC a.D.," featuring the hit single "Sadeness (Part I)." Cretu's career began in 1976 as a solo artist and session musician, leading to collaborations with artists like Peter Cornelius and Mike Oldfield. He released three solo albums before forming Enigma. Cretu was married to German pop singer Sandra from 1988 until their divorce in 2007. Known for his curly hair, Cretu was sometimes referred to as "Curly" or "Curly M.C." His work has sold over 100 million records worldwide, with Enigma alone selling an estimated 70 million albums.
