Attila Sereftug
Atilla Şereftuğ, born on November 16, 1950, in Istanbul, Turkey, is a renowned Turkish-Swiss songwriter and composer. He is best known for his significant contributions to the Eurovision Song Contest, representing Switzerland. Şereftuğ's father was a timpani player and a founding member of the Istanbul Municipality City Orchestra, which influenced Atilla's early musical education. Displaying perfect pitch from a young age, he began studying piano at Istanbul’s Municipal Conservatory under the tutelage of Austrian pianist Ferdi Statzer.
In 1986, Şereftuğ co-composed "Pas pour moi" with Nella Martinetti, which was performed by Daniela Simmons and secured second place at the Eurovision Song Contest in Bergen, Norway. Two years later, he achieved even greater success with "Ne partez pas sans moi," again co-composed with Martinetti and performed by Celine Dion, which won the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin by a narrow margin.
Şereftuğ's early exposure to both classical and popular music, including a stint playing piano for Turkish chansonnière Tülay German at the age of 12, shaped his diverse musical career. His work has been featured in various media, including the film "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" and television series like "Les 30 ans du TOP 50."
