Emilio Estefan Gómez, born on March 4, 1953, in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, is a renowned Cuban-American musician and producer. He fled Cuba with his father in 1967 to escape the Castro regime, eventually settling in Miami, Florida. Estefan is best known for his role in forming the Miami Sound Machine, a group that became famous for its fusion of Latin music with pop and dance elements. This group, which included his wife Gloria Estefan, achieved international success with hits like "Conga" and "Rhythm is Gonna Get You."

Emilio Estefan has been instrumental in the crossover explosion of Latin music in the United States, working with artists such as Jon Secada, Ricky Martin, Shakira, and Jennifer Lopez. He has won 19 Grammy Awards and received numerous honors, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2015 and the Gershwin Prize in 2019.

Beyond music, Estefan has ventured into various industries, including film, television, and hospitality. He produced the documentary "90 Millas" and owns several restaurants and hotels. In 2009, he became a minority shareholder in the Miami Dolphins NFL team.
