G Warren
Warren Griffin III, known professionally as Warren G, was born on November 10, 1970, in Long Beach, California. He is a prominent figure in West Coast hip-hop, recognized for pioneering the G-funk sound that blends smooth rhythms with gangsta rap elements. Warren G is the stepbrother of legendary producer Dr. Dre and played a significant role in introducing Snoop Dogg to the music scene.
Warren G's career took off with the release of his 1994 single "Regulate," featuring Nate Dogg, which became a major hit, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100. His debut album, "Regulate... G Funk Era," also released in 1994, debuted at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 and achieved triple platinum status, selling over three million copies. The album's success was bolstered by tracks like "This D.J.," which peaked at number nine on the charts.
Despite the initial success, Warren G's subsequent albums, including "Take a Look Over Your Shoulder" (1997) and "I Want It All" (1999), achieved gold certification but did not reach the same commercial heights. He continued to release music independently, including albums like "In the Mid-Nite Hour" (2005) and "The G Files" (2009).
In addition to his music career, Warren G has ventured into business, launching Sniffin Griffins BBQ, inspired by his father's culinary background. Throughout his career, Warren G has remained connected to his Long Beach roots and continues to influence the hip-hop genre with his laid-back yet impactful style.
