Quickmix
Frank Hassas, professionally known as Quickmix, is a renowned German record producer, songwriter, and remixer. Initially gaining recognition as a break-dancer under the alias Mr. Atomic, he transitioned into the music industry as a DJ, adopting the monikers Quickmix and DJ King Of Rock. In the mid-1980s, Quickmix collaborated with Olaf Jeglitza, also known as O-Jay, to create the "Freshline Radio Show - Tapes" and the fanzine "The Freshbeat Magazine." They formed the group Masterplan with Aram Mouchegh, although it did not achieve significant success.
Quickmix is best known for his work in the Eurodance scene during the 1990s, producing platinum and gold hits such as "Another Night" and "Run Away" by Real McCoy, as well as "Get-A-way" and "No More (I Can’t Stand It)" by Maxx. His projects, including MC Sar & The Real McCoy and Maxx, achieved widespread success across Europe and the United States, with The Real McCoy selling over 8 million records worldwide and earning numerous awards, including an MTV Award, Billboard Award, and a Grammy nomination.
In addition to his production work, Quickmix has contributed as an engineer for artists like Mariah Carey and Joe, and he has written and produced for German actress and singer Yvonne Catterfeld. He is the CEO of Electricity Records, Quickmixaudio, and Quickmix Entertainment Group, and he offers a free sound library for musicians on freesound.org. His production credits include collaborations with major labels such as Arista, BMG, and Sony Music Entertainment, and he has worked with a diverse array of artists, including Snoop Dogg, Arrested Development, and Raheem DeVaughn.
