Cyrano Jett Rosentrater, a 17-year-old composer and violinist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is known for creating authentic musical experiences. He is a student at the Julia R. Masterman School and has been recognized as a Primavera Artist from 2020 to 2025. Cyrano has received numerous grants, including the Marian Anderson Young Artists’ Grant and the SPHINX MPower Grant.

Cyrano has participated in masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Hilary Hahn and has attended prestigious music programs like the Sphinx Performance Academy and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. He currently studies violin with Kimberly Fisher of the Philadelphia Orchestra and has been playing classical violin for thirteen years. His accolades include being a 2025 Winner in YoungArts Classical Music/Violin and a semifinalist in the 2024 National Sphinx Competition for strings.

As a composer, Cyrano began writing music at the age of eight and is a composition student at the Philadelphia Curtis Institute of Music. He has been commissioned to compose for NYO-USA and has won several composition competitions, including the National Young Composers’ Challenge and the American Composers’ Forum Solo Violin Call for Scores.

In addition to his violin and composition work, Cyrano is also a pianist and has consistently earned high ratings in piano performance. He is a founding member of the Tres Voces Piano Trio and the first violin in the Advanced-Study Ann Newman String Quartet. Cyrano is actively involved in various orchestras and ensembles, serving as concertmaster and principal violinist in many prestigious groups. His passion for music is evident in his diverse interests, including electrojazz and modern classical music, and his commitment to creating captivating musical stories.
