Dani Brillant
Dany Brillant, born Daniel Cohen-Biran on December 28, 1965, in Tunis, Tunisia, is a celebrated French singer of Jewish Tunisian origin. His family moved to France when he was an infant, settling near Paris. Growing up in a musically inclined family, with a father who was a violinist and an uncle who was a renowned luth player, Brillant developed a deep appreciation for music early on. At age 14, he received a guitar from his grandfather, which marked the beginning of his journey into music.
Brillant's career took off in the 1980s when he began performing at cabarets, adopting the stage name "Brillant" after a suggestion from Jacques Boni, the owner of the cabaret "Aux Trois Maillets." His music is a unique blend of pop, salsa, gypsy jazz, and swing, drawing inspiration from artists like Frank Sinatra and Charles Aznavour.
His debut album, "C'est ça qui est bon," released in 1991, was a significant success, featuring hits like "Suzette" and "Quand je vois tes yeux." Over the years, Brillant has released numerous albums, including "Dolce Vita" (2001) and "Histoire d'un amour" (2007), achieving multiple gold and platinum certifications. He has also been recognized for his contributions to the revival of swing and jazz in French music.
