Chris Amoo
Christopher Charles Amoo, born on October 14, 1952, in Liverpool, England, is a renowned British singer-songwriter and the lead vocalist of the English soul group The Real Thing. He hails from a mixed-race background with a Ghanaian grandfather and an Irish grandmother. Chris's brother, Eddie Amoo, was also a member of The Real Thing until his passing in 2018.

Chris Amoo achieved significant success with The Real Thing, contributing to hits like "You to Me Are Everything," "Can't Get By Without You," and "Can You Feel the Force?" In March 1977, the song "You'll Never Know What You're Missing," which he co-wrote with his brother, reached No. 23 on the Billboard chart.

In addition to his work with The Real Thing, Chris Amoo pursued a solo career. In 1981, he released the single "This Must Be Love," a composition by Phil Collins, backed with "You'll Never Know What You're Missing." In 1984, he collaborated with Debby Bishop on the single "No Choir of Angels," released by EMI.

Beyond music, Chris Amoo is an accomplished dog breeder and judge at dog shows, including Crufts. His Afghan Hound, Viscount Grant, won the prestigious Best in Show title at Crufts in 1987. Chris continues to be active in both the music and dog breeding communities. He is married to Julie Amoo, née Mello.
