Chris Hayes
Christopher John Hayes, known as Chris Hayes, was born on November 24, 1957, in Sacramento, California. He began playing guitar at the age of nine and quickly developed his skills, eventually teaching others. Hayes pursued jazz guitar with various bands, including his first band, "The Rubber Band." At 20, he toured Europe with blues singer Little Esther Phillips. Upon returning to San Francisco, he joined Huey Lewis & The News as their lead guitarist, despite initially disliking rock and roll.

Hayes contributed significantly to the band's success in the 1980s and 1990s, playing on hits like "I Want a New Drug" and "The Power of Love." He was also involved in songwriting, often composing music for Huey Lewis's lyrics. Hayes comes from a musical family, with siblings Bonnie, Jonathan, and Kevin Saunders Hayes also active in music.

He eventually stepped away from the band to focus on family life but occasionally performs with them. Hayes lives in Santa Rosa, California, with his wife Cheree and their two children. His interests include golf, fly fishing, and playing the piano.
