Jiles Perry Richardson
Jiles Perry "J.P." Richardson Jr., better known as The Big Bopper, was an American musician, songwriter, and disc jockey. His distinctive rockabilly style, voice, and exuberant personality established him as an early rock and roll star. He is best known for his 1958 hit recording "Chantilly Lace." Tragically, Richardson's life and career were cut short when he died in a plane crash on February 3, 1959, in Clear Lake, Iowa, alongside other music stars.
